ON THE ISSUES

Reconciliation

The actions of those before us have left us feeling like our society is stained and the pain in certain communities and people are still ongoing and should be recognized and resolved.

Jeff on reconciliation

The average person in Saskatchewan wants to understand what happened with Residential Schools and to know the appropriate way to respond. They want to future full of understanding and possibilities.

Many still feel that we aren’t coming to a resolution and old wounds have still not full healed. And those wounds that have healed are still very painful to touch.

The actions of those before us have left us feeling like our society is stained and the pain in certain communities and people is still ongoing and should be recognized and resolved.

Jeff’s work with the Indian Residential Schools Secretariat which investigated claims and determined compensation payments as well as teaching a Sociology class of Indigenous Peoples in Canada at the U of R has given him a unique view of what has happened in our Province and Canada.

Many fear more of the same, more misunderstanding, no closure, and continual issues for more generations.

Jeff and the Saskatchewan Liberal Party want to help you become part of the Reconciliation Solution and part of the next steps we take together.

Become empowered to make a real and lasting change for all Indigenous People and as a result, change for all people of Saskatchewan and Canada.
